Brewing a destination rooted in nature

project overview
Beerburg came to Ampersand to stand out in one of Central Texas’s most crowded craft beer corridors. With dozens of breweries and distilleries just west of Austin, the brand needed to become more than another stop on the map. It needed to feel like a must-visit destination.

Challenge
How do you turn a brewery into a place people plan their day around?
The area was full of craft beer options, many within just a few miles of each other. To compete for locals, tourists, and craft enthusiasts, Beerburg needed a stronger point of difference and a clearer way to connect everything it offered, from wildcraft beer to food, events, outdoor space, and community gatherings.

solution
We built the brand around its love of nature and beer
Beerburg was already doing things differently. From foraged plants and herbs in its wildcraft product line to its use of natural, local Texas ingredients and gluten-free enzymes, the brand had a deep connection to the land.
Ampersand elevated that philosophy into a broader brand idea: a community gathering place where nature and beer naturally come together. We refreshed the art direction with an easygoing, all-natural look and feel, then expanded Beerburg’s social content to spotlight the full experience, including nature walks, outdoor live music, dog-friendly gatherings, frisbee golf, woodland play spaces, and family-friendly events.
We also created a complementary brand and beer label for La Violeta, the on-premise restaurant serving birria tacos and Oaxacan-style dishes designed to pair with the beer of the same name.

results
A one-of-a-kind brewery experience came into focus
Ampersand’s design system touched every corner of the Beerburg experience, including product packaging, outdoor signage, wayfinding, branded merchandise, wall art, social content, and restaurant branding.
The work gave Beerburg more than a new look. It connected the many parts of the property to one bigger idea and helped capture the natural spirit of the place. Beerburg became known as a place to learn and linger, where wildcraft brewing, local food, outdoor experiences, and community naturally come together.
